Coverage: USA Fastenal Intake Form: Complete Here A note on lithium-ion battery regulations Consumer demand for electric, lithium-ion based products continues to increase; however, suppliers, handlers, and end-of- life recyclers face a rapidly changing regulatory landscape and increasing regulatory oversight. In June 2023, the EPA issued guidance regarding the end-of- life recycling regulations, or lack thereof. The transfer of used lithium-ion batteries is generally considered “hazardous waste” when being transported for recovery and should be managed as such until they reach the proper recycling or disposal destination. This is mainly due to the batteries’ potential for ignitability and their overall reactivity nature. The memo does clarify that lithium- ion battery types would fall under the existing universal waste and recycling regulations for the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). When battery cells are properly removed and disassembled from devices, recyclers can then bypass an RCRA Part B Permit, as batteries are being prepped for recycling. Fastenal can help you understand how these regulations can/ will affect your operations. Then, we can strategize methods of proper storage, handling, and disposal. We want to ensure you have a complete cradle-to-grave plan for lithium-ion. The RightCycle™ program offers recycling service for hard-to-recycle brand-specific items such as, KC Professional nitrile gloves, safety eyewear, and single-use apparel items. This program helps divert potential waste and support zero- waste-to-landfill initiatives. Recycling processes all used PPE and works with various molding solutions to make new products. Materials Accepted: The RightCycle program is open to all companies who use KC Professional apparel, eyewear, and/or nitrile gloves in non- hazardous applications. Coverage: USA, Canada

Services Network *Network includes but not limited to the following* DuPont Tyvek offers a garment recycling program that helps customers within the United States manage used Tyvek and IsoClean® protective apparel. DuPont is committed to sustainability, and the Tyvek recycling program is easy to participate in and cost effective. NOTE: The minimum annual volume requirement is 3,000 pounds per year per site. Materials Accepted: Applicable styles include Tyvek 400, Tyvek 500, and Tyvek IsoClean Coverage: USA GreenTech Global Recycling offers efficient processes for material reclamation. Customers with used HSS, cobalt, and carbide can collect end mills, cutting tools, and scrap in designated buckets around your facility. Once full, buckets are shipped to a processing location where they are weighed and documented. Roughly 80% of Greenfield Industries drills, taps, dies, endmills are made from recycled material, which is a great initiative for a circular economy! Materials Accepted • Cutting tools: drill bits, taps, end mills, dies, and inserts • All HSS, cobalt, powdered metal, and carbide • These are generally M&T type tool steels such as M2, M7, M35, M42, M50, & T15 Coverage: USA Carbide Recycling: Money for waste? Yes, please! Meyn America has a monumental mission: Help feed the world. As an industry-leading manufacturer of food processing machines, Meyn understands the importance of minimizing and eliminating waste throughout their processes. Success depends on sustainable manufacturing. After Meyn America communicated their metalworking recycling needs to Fastenal, the GreenTech Global Recycling Program exceeded expectations. GreenTech Global’s comprehensive program recycles HSS, cobalt, and carbide cutting tools. These recycled tools are processed back into raw material, and then new tools. The process results in a repetition of refinement, which yields higher quality tools. Roughly 80% of Greenfield Industries drills, taps, dies, and endmills, are made from recycled material! It reduces the need for resource-heavy extraction of raw materials, helping preserve the natural world we live in. When Fastenal metalworking specialist Chad Fowler and the local Fastenal team began to assess Meyn’s landfill diversion/recycling opportunities, the potential for improvement was clear. The vision was to get organized, reduce waste, recycle ALL qualified material, and compensate the customer fairly. With Greenfield covering freight expenses and providing containers – and with Fastenal pitching in to consolidate/sort material – all that remained for Meyn was to collect a recycling settlement check! In their latest recycling return, Meyn received $7,100 for material that typically winds up in the landfill (or is credited at a significantly lower rate by material scrapping programs). The Greenfield and Fastenal teams are thrilled with this accomplishment and want to congratulate Meyn America for their significant recycling achievement! Are you recycling all of your HSS, cobalt, and carbide? Are your efforts organized, convenient, and fairly credited? If not, your Fastenal metalworking team would like to speak with you! 5
